Žofín - Prague Wine Festival

This unique festival is one of the capital's most intriguing events, surpassing many in its professionalism and cultural interest. Prague is a city that has a long tradition of viticulture. The Royal Vineyards, founded by Charles IV, in Prague, were spread on the slopes of Vitkov hill in the territory of today's Vinohrady quarter, as well as Zizkov, Vršovice and Libeň. Prague's glorious former vineyards are today represented by Vinohrady's name and the preserved vineyards at Havlicek orchard, the vineyards of saint Klára in Troja and the renewed vineyards at Vysehrad.

Moravian wines obtain a dominant position on the current domestic market and at this festival you will have the unique opportunity to meet growers and producers from the best Moravian wine regions who are eager to present their quality products. Wines from other Czech producers and winery representatives from major wine countries of Europe - from Slovakia, Austria and Hungary to Germany and France will also be present.

The festival will also feature an interesting cultural program including - musical performances by folklore bands, wine-tasting lectures, wine presentations, a children's program, a wine auction and a competition for the best wine.

More detailed information will be published on this website.
